Sophie is a consultant in paediatric and neonatal intensive care at Great Ormond Street Hospital and has been in this post for 13 years. She is the Chair of the RC (UK) EPALS and Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) Subcommittee. She has been a PALS/EPALS instructor for 17 years and an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) instructor for 12 years. She is currently involved in an international trial looking at the effects of therapeutic hypothermia in children post cardiac arrest and a study to look at the development of a novel CPR feedback device to improve the quality of CPR in children.
